Are you looking to try the new Rossignol S7 or maybe the Atomic Savage TI? I would recommend both of these skis for expert skiers wanting to try the best trends happening within the ski industry. I rented these from Intersport Rent – Affinity Sports in the heart of the Whistler village.
The S7 is a revolutionary piece of equipment that is making skiing easier and easier. It has both reverse camber at the tip and tail but has regular camber under foot. This mean you can have the manoeuvrability of a shorter ski but the stability of a longer one. The reverse camber in powder snow is almost cheating; It allows poor skiing technique and forgives mistakes. The Savage TI is 93mm under foot but has a radius of 16m which means this ski can whip around like a aggressive slalom ski but has a huge shovel to help in the soft stuff, the best of both worlds. You can rent either of these skis at Affinity Sports in Whistler, they have six shops in the village and upper village. For Whistler ski hire needs you can visit their website and reserve online. As well as Rossignol and Atomic, Affinity Sports is a Volkl Specialist; they carry the AC50, Grizzly, AC30, Tigershark, Kendo and Kenja to name a few.

I have rented ski equipment from Affinity Sports a few times a would be happy to refer these guys. They pride themselves on good customer service and I have been greeted promptly every time I have hired gear from them. Once you got the latest gear on your feet, head up and try skiing the back bowls such as Diamond or Ruby bowl. They are hidden away in Spanky’s Ladder; the wind tends to blow the snow into these bowls and the steep terrain keeps the crowds away. If the sun is shining and the powder is gone head into the park and get yourselves a pair of park skis like the Line Prophet. These are true twin tipped skis which work well in the half pipe or jumping of the booters.
Affinity sports offers a demo program, try all the skis and snowboards in their fleet for a few days and then take the cost of renting from the price of a new pair skis. They work closely with another local shop to do this.
Thanks and I hope you make it up here soon.
